Biography

Dr. John Mucheru is a distinguished finance and audit professional with over 19 years of international experience in external, internal, and forensic audits, financial consultancy, donor funds management, and capacity building.    

He holds a PhD, is a Fellow of the Certified Forensic Investigation Professional (FCFIP), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and also holds a Diploma in Education with a specialization in Accounting. John is an active member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).

His extensive career spans multiple countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Malawi, Botswana, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, and the Netherlands, where he has spearheaded high-impact audit and consultancy assignments.

His portfolio includes work with prominent international donor agencies such as the African Union IBAR, European Union, The World Bank, UNHCR, UNFPA, UNDP, UN Women, UNICEF, UN-OCHA, WFP, SSNC, SIDA, FCDO (formerly DFID), DANIDA, and the Netherlands Embassy. In addition, John has provided strategic audit and consultancy support to leading international NGOs, including Oxfam Novib, Adam Smith International Africa, Norwegian Church Aid, Norwegian Refugee Council, Kenya Red Cross, Cordaid, Diakonia, IRC, Terre Des Hommes, Christian Aid, Caritas, PACJA, CARE International, The Brooke East Africa, PELUM Kenya, Terre Solidali, EAFF, Basic Needs, and Bio Vision.
